How does it taste?

This tea is bursting with flavor, thanks to the bold notes of cinnamon and cloves—it definitely packs a punch! I usually use 2 teaspoons for a 16 oz cup, and for this one, I still stick with that amount. However, I like to add a splash of milk to mellow out the intensity, which really smooths the edges beautifully. I highly recommend trying it with a bit of milk for a well-rounded experience. Overall, it’s a rich, flavorful blend of orange and cinnamon. Unlike many other fall teas, this one stands out with its strength and unique profile. You can tell it’s Harney & Sons; it’s a true treat in my tea rotation.

Hot or Cold?

Since I drink this tea more often in the fall, I enjoy it hot in winter, but it also works wonderfully iced, with those bold flavors creating a refreshing and spicy iced tea. Either way, it’s absolutely delightful and full-flavored. Personally, I don’t add sugar, but a pinch could enhance some of the underlying flavors, especially for iced tea, making it a spicy, refreshing summer drink. If you’re like me and love a spiced winter tea, this one is perfect for the holiday season. It pairs beautifully with cookies, a hearty meal, or a cozy evening by the fireplace playing board games. This tea truly elevates the experience.

Whats in it?

Black tea, orange peel, cinnamon, cloves. Contains natural and artificial flavors.

With this Tea I often want a snack to bring out the favorites of the tea, I might make a delicious Grilled Cheese with Fig Jam, here is my go to recipe for a treat.

Ingredients (Makes 1 Sandwich):

  • 2 slices of sourdough bread (or brioche for a slightly sweeter touch)
  • 2-3 tbsp fig jam
  • 2-3 slices brie cheese (or swap with sharp cheddar or gouda)
  • 1 tbsp butter (softened)
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional, for drizzling)
  • A pinch of sea salt (optional, enhances the flavors)
  • A few leaves of arugula (optional, adds a peppery bite)
  • 2-3 slices of prosciutto (optional, for a salty contrast)

Instructions:

  1. Spread the fig jam evenly on one slice of bread.
  2. Layer the cheese on top of the fig jam. If using, add arugula and/or prosciutto.
  3. Close the sandwich with the second slice of bread.
  4. Butter the outside of both slices.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Place the sandwich in the pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted.
  6. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle a tiny pinch of sea salt if desired.
  7. Slice and serve warm with the Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea!
